Question Clutch: master or slave problem?

how can you tell the difference?

My problem: clutch has little resistance but regains as it is driven.. never back to normal but if i were to stay in gear and hold the clutch in... it will take like 10 seconds and just stall out...

Im upgrading to an ls 7 clutch prob next week and i was going to get a slave too but now i dunno if i should replace the master as well?

what do you think?
