save gas go fast?
On jegs it says save gas go fast, and has cam's my question is, If you get a camshaft thats bigger then stock do you save gas? or is that the go fast part, and if you get a smaller cam do you save gas?
I meant to ask this at the meet, but forgot.

Well, most aftermarket cams will cost you some gas milage, but that's the price you pay. I've seen some people mod their cars and actually get better milage around town, and just lose some on the highway (usually due to numerically higher gears).

Staying off the pedal usually works well.

I guess at some point you could make a trade-off, but really Im only here on this earth for a short time, and while Im here Im gonna drive loud, Polluting, fast vehicles for as long as I possibly can. Gas mileage only means something to me when I wanna make it somewhere on a trip with my daily vehicle (once I sell the camaro) other than that I love the 10 MPG Highway the Chevelle gets!

More overlap = Less fuel economy (learned that from all the anal Honda Gold Wing owners) lol
Another way to save gas T-56 swap =)
If you want a cam thats gonna give u better gas mileage and more power your best bet would be to talk to a company that does custom cams see what they can make for you.

the cam you bought is bigger than stock and you won't afford a CTS-V unless you hit the lotto.

Underdrive pulleys, better flowing intake, new plugs, wires, fuel filter, exhaust, and gears tend to give better mileage.
Depending how steep your gears are, they can kill mileage on the highway though.
