Some pics of the Z71

2001 Silverado Z71. Readylift torsion bar keys and the front cranked up to level it, 1.5" body lift, 295/75R16 BFG AT's on 16x8 Mickey Thompson wheels. The BFG tires are so much quieter than the MT Baja MTZ tires that were on it. Now I need to tune it with the Predator and see if I can get some better gas mileage. It has a CAI, ported TB, EGR tube cut back, new plugs, Magnaflow muffler. The tires look a little small, but the next size up to315's was too big without more lift.

Every tank so far has been 14.8 with the old tires. I can feel these tires coast better when you let off the gas so I think that should help. I was looking at the fuel trims and the computer is adding quite a bit of fuel so the CAI, ported TB, EGR tube and exhaust are allowing it to breathe a lot better but it needs to be tuned for it. I also want to get rid of the torque managment, add some timing and firm up the shifts.

Beautiful truck. I bought an 02 silverado hd and love it. Random question, but would you want to put a plow on this truck? I have a complete set up, western ultra mount off the identical truck

My 2500 Ram 5.9gas with 200k on the odometer, lifted and on 35s w/ 4:10 axles got 13, and I thought it sucked....My RamCharger gets 8....I would kill for 13 again. It's also the reason that its getting sold (also because I got a nice little raise at work and plan on getting something new-ish for once)

Jeff, the truck looks awesome!

Huzah for keeping your tires inside the fenders! One of the few lifted stepsides I've seen that I like.

The tires do stick out a little bit due to the offset on the wheels so I will need flares to get through inspection. I think the 295's look a little small but going up to the 315's would be too big or looked crammed too much. Here are some new pics with the moldings removed.

Cool, I still had guys calling me 3 days later after I removed the ad. They were too loud for me but you should be fine with the diesel.

BFG ATs might as well be a highway tire compared to just about any other light truck offering. The Mastercraft's that I have on my Jeep now howl compared to the BFGs that they replaced, and they aren't anything wild:

The BFG's are great tires. Nice and quiet but will still get you through some decent snow with no effort. I don't go offroad so no way I want anything real aggressive that howls in every day driving. The MTZ's aren't super aggressive but they started screaming at 70 mph. Around town at 40-45 they were louder than I would like to listen to.

Mastercraft Courser CTs - they are pretty much a hybrid AT / MT. I was looking for something more aggressive than the BFGs, but something still safe to DD with my 2 kids in the Jeep. I'm pretty happy with them.
