How Much?

Would I be expecting to pay for a used complete LT1 motor?

Ive come to the conclusion that I want to find a spare LT1 motor, and have it rebuilt to a 355 with new internals (cam), ported heads & Intake and bolt ons, as well as having my transmission rebuilt. Â*Im not looking for crazy power just a "clean" motor set-up. Â*Also to make things alot quicker, my idea was to have the motor ready to go mounted on a new tubular k-member, so the new motor can be swaped in one quick motion.

Any people have suggestions on places to find a good price or shops that does LT1 performance?

If you are going to tear it down and don;t need the aluminum heads your best bet is the caprice engine. Probably be less then $1000, for the aluminum headed ones anywhere between $1500 and $2000 depending on the year and which car it came out of.
