1988 Pontiac Trans Am/GTA $1800 FIRM
I'm selling my 88 GTA with 87,9XX original miles. The car needs paint, a new headliner, and the motor rebuilt. The dash pad just recently cracked in the center. I'm the second owner and immediately after buying the car, I changed all fluids and filters including the transmission and rear diff.
I'm selling the car as-is for $2,200 OBO. The car is in my driveway in Hillsborough, NJ 08844. The radiator, fans, balancer pulley and serp belt are off the car so it will need to be towed. It sounds like the motor has a spun bearing, but it still runs.
I installed the following parts and they have less than 2,000 miles on them:
4 245/50/R16 BFG G-force Super Sport A/S tires
Koni Yellow shocks/struts
Spohn spherical strut mounts
Eibach Pro-kit springs
UMI double adjustable panhard bar
Newer battery (Feb 2011) with custom tie-down for auto-x
The original owner installed a 3000rpm stall, 3.70 rear gears and had a shift-kit put in. He mentioned that he spent $3000 "upgrading" the transmission, but I have never taken it apart so I can't verify anything more than a shift-kit. I have receipts for all the parts and work that I have done to the car for over $2400. The engine still starts but knocks and smokes. The interior is in good shape aside from the headliner.
Call me for the fastest response on any questions and to see the car. I have no more space for this car and it needs to go fast.

i can vouch that its a solid car, the floors are good and it looks to be very straight. Interior is pretty nice too.

Aluminum drive shaft and Eibach pro-kit are still on the car, but may not be for much longer.

I need this car gone guys. I'm taking out the LS1 drive shaft this week and leaving the Eibach Pro-kit springs. $1800 cash FIRM. Must be towed. Part it out for twice that much.

I am figuring that you are going to use the LS1 driveshaft in your IROC, but if you are selling it outright let me know.
Thanks.

Matt, as I said on your Camaro sale thread, same guy I mentioned on there might be interested in the GTA as well. Hes going to see what he can do. From the sound of it he may take the GTA, (I have a driveshaft from a 97 camaro we can use) and do what he wants for the motor. But I'm only telling you so you know someone is interested, its not set in stone yet.

What parts are still on the car? Is this originally a TPI 350 car?

The radiator, rad hoses, balancer and belts are off the car. I took these off to run the motor with no accessories to try and make sure it was the motor making the knock. The car is a 350 L98 GTA with the original drivetrain still in it.
This car is sold pending payment.
