overnight camping and wheeling at rausch creek

seeings as there are a plethora of jeep owners on this sight, I am planning an overnight camping trip to rausch creek on oct 25th.

I will be heading out that way directly after school at 2:00 pm on Saturday the 25th. Planning to camp overnight on the 25th and wheel all day Sunday.

I have atleast one other jeep planning to come, have posted on a bunch of other sites including wranglerforum, and facebook pages and would love to have more people come out. Im planning on doing greens, and some blues. if you have any other question don't be afraid to pm me and if you know anyone that might wanna join absolutely steer them my way.

If you have never been to rausch creek I implore you to check out there website as far as fees and what the trails look like and distance and so forth.

as for the camping, it is included with the day of wheeling. There is no potable water on site (there is supposedly a well within 2 miles of the entrance, info from rausch creek rep) it is labeled as primitive camping with only porta poddies, they do have fire rings set up, bring your own food if your coming, im planning burgers and dogs for dinner.

If you are planning to trailer your rig I would need to know ahead of time

admins if this is in the wrong spot please feel free to move it (I apologize in advance)

That would be pretty sweet. Take a look at their trail rating system and let us know how well it works as far as what they require and how hard the trails are. I have heard some mixed things about if the trails are challenging enough.

oh they're plenty challenging, at least for me they are, i've been there before and rode greens and blues, I found them extremely challenging, though I didn't have my locker, or sway bar disconnects at the time so i'm hoping to enjoy myself a little more during this outing

My frame is solid unlike most out there. My ball joints and steering are nice and tight too. And I pull high teens most tanks.

Sounds like a fun trip, pretty sure I won't be ready for trail action by then though. Have springs / shocks / BPEs and some other stuff piled up to install in the next week or two, but there are some other things that will have to be taken care of before I can head out into the woods.

If you are up for a cruise out to the Great Adventure area there are a ton of trails in Colliers Mills that are basically fire service roads. Nothing challenging at all unless you go after lots of heavy rain, still a fun day spent in the woods.

Thanks for the offer, but my dad and brother are both mechanics so I get easy lift access and plenty of help. Time and money are what is holding me back more than anything else.

Do you know if they have any real simple trails, stuff that a stock WK can handle? Like are there trails just for cruising/driving around, not so much mudding/climbing?

I mean they have stuff that your stock jeep can absolutely handle, but i would be hard pressed to find simple dirt roads, but im sure you could come out i dont plan on doing anything a stock jeep couldnt handle, i dont like to break ***** unnecessarily

Hum....if I can overhaul my 98, I may attempt to join.
I have some videos of our old trips there Had no issues with my 2in budget boost on 31's on my old xj. IMO if your truck is low you'll want some armor.
