Exhaust question...

I have a question about an exhaust...this guy on camaroz28.com is selling an exhaust for a 98z28...but it has dual cats like my 97z28...would that fit on my car...just wondering cause its a y-pipe, cutout, and cat back for under $300 so it could be worth it

Im willing to say no, it wont. 98+ ls1 cars the exhaust is different. Thats why you need to buy that adapter kit for 93-97 fbodies to run ls1 style catbacks(ie rumbler, loudmouth, etc)

the only differences are between the 93-95 single cat cars and the 95-02 dual cat cars

95-97 dual cat exhaust systems are identical to 98-02 exhaust systems

yeah...plus the adapter kit for the slp for example is just the hanging brackets...the exhaust i am looking at is a magnaflow so i dont think it even needs an adapter

It will fit. Gm made running changes during the 96 model year to dual converters. The front pipe is the same from 96 to 02 weather it's an LT1 or an LS1. there may be some minor issure with the rear tail pipes and the hangers.

Thats not true.

The kit from SLP is also a S bend pipe that connects the cat to the catback. I know because i installed a TSP rumbler on my 93 like last month or so.

If the 95-02 cars have the same design catback, then i guess im wrong, but i always see seperate exhaust systems sold for the 98-02 cars.

that s-pipe is included with the "installation kit" if you have a 93-95 car ONLY...if you look at slp's "installation kit" prices for their slp loudmouth you'll notice that the 96-02 "installation kit" costs less than the 93-95 kit...that is because the s-pipe is included in the pre-96 cars only
