Ignition hot lead

I may just be not looking hard enough, but where is the wire to tap into that is hot with ignition on? 95 LT1.

I thought there was a main one that most people used to power a relay for the EWP or other stuff similar?

as long as its fused, why not. and you mean the junction post, right? i think it will retain power for 5 minutes after the ignition is off though, fecking RAP module.

is the cruise control always hot with ignition on? just steal power from there maybe? since its !cruise. that way its run through the fuse panel and you can have it fused or something like that.

thats how a switch completes teh circuit

edit- oh i think thats lighted....

doubledit- some place on tech will make you a wiring diagram for a fee....

Ok sweet, thats what I figured, cause with no "ground" lead, the window switch comes on and what not, the purge solenoid can be opened etc. So I am pretty sure I got it all 100% now, just need to find a keyed hot lead and or a ground to tie into under the dash.

i dono of a keyed ground. there is a heavy gauge pink wire under the dash i tapped into for my radar power? honestly though no clue what it is and i wouldn't use it for the whole system. i would run a heavy gauge wire from the junction post, fuse it, and use that for hot. it will lose power after the key is off for several minutes. just put it on the side with all of the fusible links.

No this hot lead only powers the window switch the main solenoids are fused straight off the main posts by the battery.

The window switch controls the main relay that in turn controls the solenoids.

So I need a hot lead to power the window switch....

yeah but you only want it on when the system is armed so use the hot coming out of the arming switch

you don't have a separate switch to turn the system on? so you are going to cruise around with it always hot or something? you're doing it wrong fer sure

Ok, well this switch needs a hot lead to in turn activate the window switch. That will mean the system is armed and the solenoids are always wired in however they are controlled by a relay which is in turn operated by the solenoid. The purge at the moment is always on, I need to work on that, I was just happy to get things working...

ok. everything in the system should come after the arming switch IMO. so i would run a heavy gauge fused wire from the junction post to the arming switch. then the arming switch will run a hot lead to the window switch, which controls the noids. you would also connect the purge, warmer, and any safety features into this circuit so that everything works, and only works, when the system is armed. i'm sure you know this, just explaining.

Yea I suppose I could throw a switch in between the main lines for the noids... another relay I suppose... damnit! That means more switches!
