Well, the bullet muffler in place of the gutted cat is still a good idea, but if your car is legal, then I say forget about it. Neighbors have no right to complain as long as it's legal and you aren't being a dick within the community.

hi flow cats are a total myth. teh difference in flow from a standard cat to any of teh popular high priced "high flow" models in usually only about 5%.
i would agree with the bullet muffler idea tru2chevy presented. it will lower teh volume and note of your exhaust and not sacrifice flow.

Well I'm going to disagree with everyone! I don't think adding a cat. is going to quite down a flowmaster. I think replacing the flowmaster with something like a hooker areochamber or simular is the only way.

I have a 4" Mufflex with a spintec. I've run it with shortie headers with a cat, gutted cat, and now with longtubes with duel highflow cats. The change in sound is minimal.

A loud exhaust/muffler is going to stay loud, a cat isn't going to make a big enough change.

Why the hell would you spend $170 on a cat? Catco 3" on Ebay for $45.00 (5 year / 50k mile warranty too).

I had my cat on my doorstep in 3 days....and there is no reason to be worried. The places that sell the new cats are mostly resellers....not private people.

Besides magnaflow, IMCo and flowmaster exhausts we( exhaust guys) also sell converters. Both catco and magnaflow in universal and direct fit. A uni for the guy's heres at NJFOB runs about $50 . Email streetofdreams2004@yahoo.com. Plus we are right in Bergan county so no ebay hassles or trying to figure out if it will fit.

Not to be mean, but we told you to go with a bullet muffler or a different cat-back.
