Y Hello Thar Check Engine Light

Anytime I drive above 75 for a period of 5 or so minutes, the check engine light will come on until I turn off the car and back on. Normally this wouldnt bother me, but at night its this blaring orange light. Any ideas?

http://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/faq/thirdgen.shtml at the bottom...check to see if you have any stored codes...figure out which ones and diagnose from there.

I'd guess it is the EGR valve, pull it and clean it and see if it goes away. You may need a new one.

the egr only opens up in cruise situations where there is steady vacuum. so rolling steady on the highway is when the ecm would notice it was not acting right.

$72 later, new EGR installed. Old one was all carboned up. So far no lights.
