Depends on the wheel (if its aftermarket or OEM) but the majority use 2" spacers.

Anyone want to guess what size adapter will I need for a 17x11 ZR1 rim with 315's?

2 1/2 inch MAYBE at MINIMUM lol good luck with that...well thats if its in the front if its in the rear get a 4th gen rear 2 1/2 inch adapters and you should be alrite or just mini tub it NOW WERE TALKING!

i used 2in all around.... id suggest u go 2 1/4 up front tho

hmm...any particular reason why? i have a 4th gen rear so they should fit on the rears

i have adapters

the driverside front rim rubbed on a steering componant, i forgot wat exactly i did this years ago, and i had to add a 1/4in spacer

yeah thats what i hear..they are dangerous. im not going to put them on myself though im going to get a local shop to do them.

The adapters are fine as long as you torque the inner and outer lugs nuts every so many miles. The good quality ones come with instructions on the recommended miles to drive and retorque.

they may be ok for daily driving...but if you race, even once in a while, they could be hazardous.

If you are afraid to bolt on an adapter you should never touch you rims either because it is the exact same thing.

Can I use your adapters for racing or rock crawling?
We've been using the billet adapters on our twin turbo Camaro road race car. So far we've torn driveshafts, snapped axles, and broken torque arms, and the adapters have always been perfect. We are great at product testing (i.e. finding the limits of components when they break!). If we can't break it, it won't break.

Spacer is a thin circular disk that sits between the wheel and hub. It should be no more then 1/4 inch.
An adapter is larger, and is required to be bolted to the hub so to move wheel out further.
Adapters are VERY safe as long as you put them on correctly. Its not a place you want to cheap out.

I lost a wheel WITH the adapter still on it(lost all the lugs holding the adapter to the hub) on the parkway because a year earlier when I put them on I used a lug wrench and I guess I never really tightened them down hard enough and they finally came loose.

Then again I lost a wheel on my beater because I didnt tighten the lugs down enough either, that didnt even have spacers/adapters on it...needless to say all wheels/adapters from now on are being double checked after I put them on by a shop with a air gun

i had to retighted one adapter in 3 years, and it was maybe a week after installation, since then i check periodicaly and all has been fine

Ted's been using Skulte adapters on his Iroc for years, and as far as I know he has never had an issue. I'll direct him to the thread so he can chime in himself.
