The Resto Continues - 1978 Camaro

I thought I posted pics on here of the start but I cant find it. So, here it is. My brothers '78 Camaro. He wasnt going to do a complete restoration but we talked him into it. For those of you who noticed TMR isnt a sponsor on here anymore, its not because we dont want to be. Its because my brother Al, who is one of our main men, had back surgery in December and we have put the business on hold for now(at least until the summer when he is back at 100%). So, my father and I are gonna keep busy with this project. We will be working on this full time so Ill post pics everyday to show how its going. Enjoy.

Agreed....looks like a very solid starting point. Wish most of the stuff that comes through our shop was in that good of condition to begin with.

Yeah, it is a good start. It was a running and driving car when he went to buy it but the owner was willing to sell it as a roller, so we helped him take his engine and trans out and brought it home.

Spent the morning getting supplies and came back to accomplish this so far. We found some old bodywork and found out the back of the quarter was pushed in so we had to bang that out and weld the old drill holes that were under the bondo.

We found some more evidence of previous bodywork but so far the car is in good shape.

Yes it does! We have a TV in the garage so we dont have to miss any playoff games!
I plan on posting pics every night, unless we get lazy and take the day off.

Thanks guys. Here are a bunch of pics from today. As you can see we found some more patch work and a bunch of bondo from previous work.

The previous owner swapped it to an auto and didn't save any of the parts. So rather than buy everything all over again to make it stick, he is just keeping it auto.

Yeah, we took it off cleanly. Where do you think the best place to sell it is?

The engine is ready and waiting for it. Its a 383 with 500hp/500tq @ the flywheel. He is thinking of a dark purple metallic color. This will be mainly his weekend car with the occasional track pass.
