5th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show July 7, 2007 Saratoga NY

If you do only one car show this year, the 5th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show at Saratoga Auto Museum is your MUST-MAKE show! Mark your calendar. The Saturday July 7 show runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rain Date July 8 ) and is a fund raiser for Special Olympics Saratoga. The show is hosted by Firebird Nation of North America. All Firebirds, Formulas, Trans Ams, Firehawks, GTAs, Bandits, Machos, Show Cars, Street Cars, Race Cars, Survivors, Classics, Cruisers, Drivers and works in progress... are welcomed to attend. Join your Firebird friends and family. See Birds from nine states and Canada. There is a minimum donation of $5 to Special Olympics Saratoga required for registration.

The July 7, 2007 All Firebird Lawn Show has been moved to a larger field within the park with no danger of tree sap! This field will easily handle 200+ Firebirds plus projected growth for the next few years. The new field is all grass with no pot holes, gopher holes, or trees, so there is no fear of dust, tree sap or bird droppings. Field layout will change with improved parking space between cars and two entrances and exits. There are secondary fields within a few yards for use with sun umbrellas, sun tents, and shade trees. There is also plenty of nearby parking for support vehicles plus truck and trailer parking for the trailer queens and long haulers.

If you did not see the online pictures from our previous shows, you can see some of them here: http://community.webshots.com/user/ts_in_ss_ny.

You can also download our 2007 show flyer, show registration form, directions, hotel – motel list, etc. at http://clubs.hemmings.com/firebirdnationofnorthamerica on the Download page. See PIX from previous shows on the Firebird Show page, or a show photo gallery on the Photo Gallery page.

The 2005 show was covered in the ONLINE edition of HPP. See the complete story online here: http://highperformancepontiac.com/ev...saratoga_show/. The 2006 show was covered in the June 2007 issue of High Performance Pontiac magazine on newsstands March 15-20, 2007.

We will award judged 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place trophies in each of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Generation Firebird judged classes. No subdivision into stock, modified, etc. Saratoga Auto Museum will award a Saratoga Auto Museum Choice trophy. Ralph Mangino Jr. from Mangino Pontiac will award a Dealer Choice trophy. Special Olympics Saratoga athletes and coaches will award an Athlete’s Choice trophy and a Coach's Choice trophy. We will also award a judged JUMBO Best of Show trophy. Special Olympics Saratoga Athletes will pick their favorite twenty-five Firebirds. Owners of the Fave25 will all receive Special Olympics Saratoga Participant Ribbons. There is a limit of one trophy per participant in 2007. Goodie bags and Dash Plaques go to the first 100 Firebirds through the gate. We will sell hotdogs, soda & bottled water. This year we have planned even more raffles and prizes. There will also be show T-shirts in multiple sizes and more! DJ Nolan will spin records to keep you entertained. Museum bathroom passes & group price admission available to all Firebird drivers & passengers! Once again all show proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics Saratoga. Car haulers & trailers are not a problem. We have plenty of room for truck & trailer parking near the show grounds if you want to trailer your Bird. Vendor spaces available.

Yeah, this is a REALLY good show and it's relatively close too. I've been going the for the last 3 years and I'm definitely not going to miss this one.

I really want to bring my restored 1979 SE Trans Am semi-trailer queen, but I am still desperately looking for a place to rent a SUV or other vehicle that can tow a trailer. Anyone know of a place to rent one affordably? I checked all the big places (U-Haul, Penske, Hertz, Untited Equipment, etc) and it would run me about $1,000 for the weekend. OUCH!

If anyone knows where to rent a SUV or such with a traielr hitch, please e-mail me directly at maddog5150@aol.com Much appreciated dudes.

Pete

Update

Be sure to check the FNONA website at http://clubs.hemmings.com/firebirdnationofnorthamerica at the Firebird Show page on Thursday night July 5 to see if the show will run on Saturday July 7 or if the Rain Date will be needed! Rain Date is Sunday July 8. You can also check the Saratoga Auto Museum page at http://www.saratogaautomuseum.org/index.php or call the Museum at 518-587-1935 for a recorded message. The show runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Info will be posted Thursday July 5, 2007 by 8:00 p.m. We thank all of our FNONA members and Firebird enthusiast friends who continue to come from states near and far and from Canadian provinces to join the largest All Firebird show east of Dayton Ohio. This will be the best show yet!

Raffle prizes for 2007 include $50 YEAR ONE certificates, $25 Ames Performance certificates, gift certificates from RockAuto.com, great prizes from Advance Auto Parts Saratoga, and others. New for 2007 is a 50-50 raffle operated by FNONA. Half of proceeds go to the winner and half are donated to Special Olympics Saratoga. As mentioned earlier, the show has been moved to the field at the Hall of Springs. The new field is to the left of the Museum and the paved general parking lot and will easily handle 200 Firebirds plus projected growth for the next few years. The field is all grass with no trees, so there is no fear of dust, tree sap or bird droppings. Field layout will change with improved parking space between cars and two entrances and exits. There are secondary fields with shade trees within a few yards for use with sun umbrellas and sun tents but tent stakes are not allowed due to underground power cables. There is also plenty of nearby parking for support vehicles. Truck and trailer parking will be located across the street from the Museum on the old show field.

This year, trophy winners will DRIVE UP IN THEIR FIREBIRDS to RECEIVE THEIR AWARDS in front of the crowd. Show t-shirts are back in 2007 and we are holding the price at just $15 each or $17 for XXL. Goodie bags will include a huge 5 inch by 6 inch dash plaque in full color thanks to Ralph Mangino Jr. and Mangino Pontiac in Ballston Spa, NY http://www.mangino.com. You can also expect bags and stuffers from Year One, Ames Performance Engineering, Want Ad Digest, Hagerty Classic Car Insurance, Rockauto.com, Saratoga Springs Chamber of Commerce, Saratoga Auto Museum, Gold Eagle Co., and others. The 2007 dash plaques and show t-shirts will feature the 2006 Best of Show 1968 Firebird owned by Joe Carey and the 2006 Athlete Choice Award 1986 Trans Am owned by Eddie Barra.

The Friday Night All Firebird Cruise is back with police escort by SSPD. We meet at the Museum at 5:00 p.m. and cruise at 5:30 p.m. for 10 miles to Mr. Ed’s Ice Cream Station and Pizza restaurant. The Cruise is free but you must pre-register by e-mailing your name, city, state, year, make, and model to tsmith24@earthlink.net with Subject: Firebird Cruise Pre-registration.

The Car Corral is back! If you have a Firebird for sale, this is the place to park it! ‘For Sale’ signs in or on your vehicle are permitted only in the Car Corral. This will be a prominent location on the field. Don’t miss out. Minimum donation is just $10 and you still get goodie bag, dash plaque, etc. You can register for the Car Corral at the registration trailer when you sign in. For more info, e-mail tsmith24@earthlink.net.
