How old is the CD player?

Older car CD players weren't as well equipped to handle bumps and vibrations as most of the newwer ones are. I have a 4 year old Pioneer (DEH-P4300) in my car, and I have to go over a pretty serious bump to make the CD skip.

It might help if you cleaned the laser too, if that hasn't been done in a while (or ever.....).

Thats why I stay away from most Kenwood products. Hit a pebble in the road and the cd skips. I used to have one in my old formula.

most skipping problems are due to improper mounting
