Thirdgenners tip!

get an s10 t/c!
1998 S10 4.3L 2WD it should be about $160 from autozone, and will give you a 2200 stall. Thats a good bang for the buck torque converter. If I knew about this a year ago, id probably have a running car right now..

it wont hold any decent power though. It will just be a loose converter not efficient at all

true, I ment for a near stock car. Never added that, of coarse my lg4 wouldnt have had any power..

Even for a near stock car, if the converter isn't efficient at all, it will transmit less of the engine's actual power to the wheels, which will negate the help off the line that the few hundred extra RPM of stall speed will give you.

You might see some improvement, but I wouldn't think that it's worth spending $160ish and the time it takes to swap a converter on.
