Jeep 4.0 with open exhaust sounds like ass. I ran out of time when I was installing my cat-back, so I had to put the Jeep back in the garage for the night with no muffler/tailpipe on it. It was obnoxious, and not in a good way. I was VERY happy to finish the install the next morning!

The only time I enjoyed how my LS1 sounded was when I had TSP TDs dumped with a cam. The magnaflow and cats now sounds ok. Damn this diverted from "on topic" fast as hell hahah

Oh you're so wrong my friend.....my 76 Plymouth with a slant 6 sounded pretty nice for a POS with a worn out engine and literally NO exhaust. Pipe between cat and exhaust rusted off and I yanked them....guts of the cat fell out. Sounded like NASCAR

Slap a flowmaster 40 on a 4.0L Jeep Engine. You know what, clamp it on, because you will want to rip it off bare handed when you hear how bad it is.

it sounds great...it sounds awesome, theyre just struck with LsEnvy. theyre mad at our gas mileage and awesome technological designs which made their motors seem like outdated boat anchors with a toilet bowl for an injection system (gen1) and an ignition system stuck behind a forever leaking water pump (lt1) meanwhile our motors still run the same with 180k miles on them as they did brand new.

a cutout is different than open headers, unless you have 2 cutouts, one at each collector

LS1's are ****** sounding engines. I love the performance, but they are raspy and rattling engines. Very few exhaust systems make them sound any good and open pipes just sound like ass.

Yeah, sounds horrible.

Like I said, the performance is impressive, the exhaust note is crap.

They sound good on video but in person that sound is ear piercing. F' that put a full exhaust on and save the hassle.
