My brother just wrecked his Firebird!!

Driving on rt73 yesterday some lady pulled out in front of him at the last second as he was doing 50mph. He now has a fractured Vertabrae. He may need surgery or a brace. The cops said it was totaled. Its a shame not only cause it was his project but that he is homeless and LIVES out of the Firebird. Anyway Im trying to get him to sell the good parts from the car to buy something else. It is a 94 Formula T Top 6 speed, ws6 rims. Ill have more info soon. I cant get any info on its whereabouts yet...

Thanks for the support! He's in a rehab center in a back brace now. He wants to save the car. I went to get stuff out of it for him and the drivers t-top wouldn't go in from the windshield frame being pushed in. It looks possible but damn it seems like a ***** ton of work.....

If he really wants to rebuild, Id highly recommend an identical rolling chassis donor car and swap his stuff over. Plus then you'd get the repair parts like headlight and fender that he'd need.

So the car is bent up that bad? I dunno. that car looks friggin trashed. you might want to convince him to cut bait. he can buy another one when hes back on his feet. maybe find a place to live first. help him part it out.

That car is beyond sensible repair. Unless the car has that extreme of a sentimental attachment, there is not a chance it would be cheaper to fix than to buy another one.

Is insurance not paying him out on it or something? If they are i would just take the check.

Find out who was the exact cause of the accident! If the other party was completely at fault and they have Insurance, make sure he starts to collect all his doctor bills. Next would be to take the Insurance estimate on totaling this Bird. Get him to heal FIRST and then when he is back on his feet, getting him a place to stay (NOT living in car). Last would be to look around for a car that is within the amount the Insurance company is paying for your total. Also have a lawyer look into filing a law suit against them. Just my

I just noticed, he has a CUSTOM STEERING WHEEL. What could a STOCK AIR BAG WHEEL have helped in this type of crash. This could be a question that an Insurance Adjuster could bring up!

Ouch. 'I'm never going to be in an accident' is right up there with 'I'm never going to sell it'.

Hopefully if insurance is involved they won't notice
