If you didnt notice my post had been made into a thread by an admin, never heard me complain about it, I just kept moving with it.

I knew someone would not know and i kept it quite until someone fell into the trap. Not all Blackbirds were painted the silver metallic. There is at least one color combition that was different if need be i can post up the pics.

Since its clear what happens when people lacked the full knowledge in the beginning of what car orginally had the lower panel painted and you get the most common car that was painted after using the name to call it that.

Im glad this debate was taken out of nastyelesones thread about his really nice new car he got and brought into this thread.

You cant say im wrong that the blackbird had the lower panel painted first, and thats why i used some random thought such as the ford assembly line into the debate, ford had created the assembly line first and we still call it by that, we never changed the name. So why call the panel by the second car that was painted by it, not the 1st.

The color of how the panel is being painted shouldnt change the name of it.

Nothing is pointless, There was a point.

Shownomercy did put a great point across but stayed quite for his sake.

At least cbrmike agreed that GM created the black panel on the camaros not berger. This is the same reason why for a long time my opinion was if someone paints it first call it by who painted it.

As for the answer its clear the forum likes Ceta and im the only one walking away calling it a blackbird.
i noticed, i requested it since the thread got so off topic.

if you have pictures of a FACTORY blackbird/carl black car having a different color post them, because on both the carl black site, AND THE gmmg site, they state that all 50 were painted silver

If we are splitting hairs then as far as I can tell the black tail panels started on the 1965 Z-16 Chevelles- not even the f body.

"Great Website! I have some updated information about the Carl Black / GMMG cars for 2002 - and some great pictures for you! I recently purchased car number 1 of the 35th Anniversary Firebird series, based on the Blackbird Trans Am. I had been looking for a limited edition, or anniversary Trans Am for some time, when I came across this car on Ebay in the summer of 2004. Talk about a collector's dream - car number 1 in a series of only 19 promotional cars! Here's the scoop - only 50 original Blackbirds were produced, and sold so quickly that Carl Black Pontiac wanted another series of 50 high performance Trans Ams, which they would refer to as the "35th Anniversary Firebird" package.
These cars had the same performance modifications as the Blackbirds, but sported unique Anniversary badges/emblems and different nostalgic wheels. The production run of these cars was cut short due to General Motors legal issues, and only 17 promotional cars were allowed to continue to full production, with 2 additional cars being pushed through late by Carl Black's sales manager, for a total of 19 Anniversary edition cars. This information is direct from Matt Murphy, president/founder of GMMG. I am the second owner of this car, which had 5,000 miles on the odometer when I purchased it. Exterior is Arctic White, with Blue 380HP callout stripes on the hood (reminiscent of the 1969 Trans Am). Interior is black leather, white Hurst shift knob with short-throw performance linkage, Anniversary specific gauge cluster and floormats. See attached photos of the car, including its advertisement in Pontiac Enthusiast magazine. These cars represent the pinnacle of Pontiac's all-American muscle - a thrill to own, show and most importantly drive!"

there you go, since its so hard to figure out

I figured since it was based on the blackbird that the carlblack was a carl black blackbird not "carl black" Now we know the carl blacks had different color lower panels than the blackbirds

Blackbirds yes were all painted silver of the orginal 50 total

Ceta's were all painted black.

which only makes it right to call it a ceta if you painted your T/A lower panel black. Which makes it right for you to call it a blackbird if you painted it silver. And if you have any other color than that makes it just a unique lower panel.

there was a point i found out that if i would have called his lower panel a ceta because its black it would be right but if it was silver its a blackbird.

which is what i have been saying every post in this thread.

the reason that one is blue is because its based off the 97 and 99 white and blue aniversary cars.

even the pewter blackbirds had silver bumpers......which, is, retarded looking lol

so skinny guy was arguing with you hardcore in the beginning, and now hes agreeing with you, but now he's making it sound like this is what he was trying to say in the beginning, but in actuality, he really wasnt? shouldnt he just say, "mike im sorry i doubted your knowledge. you were right, i was wrong." ?

the point being is that he called my rear bumper panel a CETA mod. it is a ceta mod because it happens to be painted black, not silver. to which you conceded 3 posts above or so to be a ceta panel is black and blackbird if silver. thats what the original argument was about and you just sidestepped to our side of the argument and agreed with what we were saying but trying to make it look like your still right. some maneuver there buddy.
