Question WTB Replacement OEM Muffler with Better Sound/ 1994 Trans Am

Looking to see if anybody has an opinion on which STOCK replacement Muffler has the best sound (rumble idle/ deep tone/ WOT) for my 1994 25th Trans Am. There is a place in this area called Affordable Kustomz & Repair in Middlesex who quoted me a Magnaflow replacement that has the exact dimensions as the Stock muffler. The stock sounds OK, but I like a muscle car sound. Do these aftermarket mufflers also flow better? What about a Flowmaster also?
I am looking to save my stock exhaust dual dual tips and my system now has ZERO rust, so getting them off should not be a tough problem. Thanks for any input. Are there ANY websites that have a sound system so you can get an idea as to how there mufflers sound, such as idle, cruises and WOT?

When I first got my car, my Dad had a magnaflow muffler swapped in and I thought it sounded pretty good. It probably flowed better than the stocker but it was done for a little more sound. I would advise against a flowmaster as well.

What is meant by "It was done for a LITTLE MORE sound". Thanks

The stock muffler was well broken in and it sounded generally good for OEM IMO. The magnaflow added more sound but wasn't overbearing. It added a deeper tone and generally more noise without being over the top.

Thanks, I looked up their site and they make a muffler JUST for the 1994 Camaro and Firebird LT1. Anybody know the in and out dimensions? It could be 2.50 & 2.25. Plus any place with a better price than Pep Boys or Advance? It looks like $119 so far.

Yes, more so as a whole catback. But, main choke points are the manifolds and y-pipe.

ill be the 3rd to say no flowmaster. I had one on the car when I got it. It sounded OK, but it rotted away. I replaced it with GMMG, which is not what you are looking for though.

Magnaflow sounds great on our cars, so I'd go with that.

They all are a bit louder than stock and make more power, but the main thing is to get the complete cat-back setup. The stock intermediate pipe is 2-3/4" id and the aftermarket ones are 3" id so they flow better. I'm not sure which brands are still available, but the SLP Loudmouth is probably too loud for what you want. I had the ATR on my old 2000 SS and it sounded pretty mellow but was a straight through when you hit wot so it got loud during aggressive driving. Borla had adjustable plates so you could tune the sound to your liking. GMMG chambered had too much of a drone for me, I had it on my 93 Pace Car or 96 SS, I can't remember which one. Dynomax has a couple of options but the alumized ones will start to rust over time, that is what I have on my Silverado. Magnaflow is stainless so it should last and they sound pretty good.

I keep getting TWO different numbers for the pipe that comes out of the cat, and the inlet to the muffler. One is 3.0" and the other is 2.75". Without a doubt, which is the CORRECT dimension. Thanks

Magnaflow is a good choice. I have Hooker on mine and sounds pretty solid I think. Reminds me of a Magnaflow but a little louder at all rpms.

I had a magnaflow for about 7 years, it was too quiet / a lot of deep bass. Added a cutout, but i dont care for that sound. Swapped to longtubes with catted Y and didn't make much difference. Now I'm running a hooker aerochamber with Ory and it sounds much better!
