Thirdgen Expo 2016 sponsored by HEIDTS

My friend and I drove out to Lake Zurich Illinois for the thirdgen expo in my 90 formula. Heidts was sponsoring it along with hawks thirdgen. They introduced an all new IRS system for 82-92 camaro/firebirds along with a few other suspension goodies. Just wanted to share some pics from the show.

My Formula

Heidts Camaro
Twin turbo LS3
$125k Build

Revised Thirdgen Kmember. I actually bought one of these at the show. Looking forward to receiving it. This one is an incomplete display.

Thirdgen IRS Fully assembled. They said the initial install is 25-30 hours. But once its in it can be easily removed faster than the factory rear. It can be used with the stock fuel tank as well.

They put the coils under the dash. I personally am not sure i like that. I want to relocate them on my 87 but i feel like there should be some sort of air flow over them. though they are not exposed to the head of the engine there

I'm no where near needing a setup like that anytime soon, but good to know there's something available if I ever need it.

Also, it's good to know companies are still designing new products for the 3rd gens.

Great pics!

While $7k isn't all that bad for such a setup - it costs almost as much as a pretty nice 3rd gen to stick it in.

Do they have any sort of testing to show how well it works?

dude, that is seriously AWESOME that you went out there for that. great photos, definitely some sweet cars out there. unique silver TT car they built, at first it reminded me of the one that Troy Trepanier (rad rides by troy) had been building up a few years ago called project "F-87" which was heavily modified inside, outside, powertrain.. but never was finished.. and then they pulled all photos of of their website. despite me emailing them asking about the status of the car, I have never heard back from them. It was too overdone for my liking, but thats what the financier/owner wanted and I guess lost funding or interest. They had hundreds of photos of the build up. At first I thought that might have been it, but I can tell now it is not.

Looks like you had a great time there though!
