1973 Camaro LT

I recently traded my terminator for this 73 camaro a few weeks back. So happy about the trade. Camaro is such a great cruiser, neck breaker, and chick magnet. Has built 327 mated to a th350

I never felt so happy about about a car.
Cruising around a dealer plate doing everything right with hagerty. Going back and forth .

And the moment you love something you have so much. It gets ruined.
A lady driving her Nissan big metal bumpered car while inserting an address into her GPS because godforbid we stop and lose 2 minutes of our time
Heart broken. Was in shock. My skin changed color and the feeling to vomit.

This one hurt. This one punched me right in the stomach

Yea that went from an awesome story to a very sad one! That was a nice car, I am also curious to hear how the insurance handles it.

I was waiting on hagertys response . They only accepted me hours after the accident. So technically I wasn't cover. The dealer plate was liability only and now we will see how the ladies all state handles everything. I will get my car fixed and paid for depreciation value. I will get it done right. There was no paint under this one. All original panels and sandblasted to get resprayed. I'll get it all back.

Wow, car was parked right in front of your house!?

Looks like she pushed it a few feet... how many feet did it move?

Makes me sad and angry. Sorry man. I hope they fix it. What did you have it insured for?

That really went from an awesome story to terrible, sorry man. She was definitely doing over 25mph and it doesn't even look like she reacted until well after the initial collision. Looks like she carried the car from the skid mark. Make sure you go to a body shop YOU WANT. Do no let her insurance bully you around. Go to the best shop you can. Beautiful car, I hope it is restored completely to its former glory. I'm surprised she was able to input an address while in motion, no factory installed gps allows that. Only unlocked ones and portables/phones. What a bitch.

Thanks guys. Was a portable GPS.
Very upsetting

According to hagerty condition report for that car they suggested 24k
(I think it's a bit high) but I insured for 30k. Mind you again my insurance was only activated after the accident. So It's in her insurances hands. And lawyer if needed

Her insurance will total it and pay the average value for a 73 Camaro. I can't believe you had it parked on the street!

Nah. I've been through this. I either want my car fixed and an extra for depreciation. Or the average of another 73 camaro in the same condition.

Not negative...just realistic. I honestly hope you get it fixed but without proper insurance, i just don't see it happening without a bunch of money out of your pocket.

Idk we'll see. I also have to look into my home insurance. See what's up.

This sucks.

Homeowners will not pay anything, even if it had been on your property. I suspect hagerty will deny the claim but you never know.

This is brutal and painful to see. I saw this on my phone first and thought that you were just messing with us. Really sorry to hear about this.

One of the reasons that classic insurance exists is because regular companies will pay out like it's a regular car. That shot to the rear is probably the worst place for a 2nd gen to get hit. They will probably total this out. You can forget about NOS sheetmetal.

Hopefully Hagerty will be cool about this, especially if the application to them was submitted well before the time of the accident.

Wow man what a beautiful car. It's a damn shame when things like this happen. Best of luck getting it fixed/replaced.

Correct, homeowners won't do anything. When my neighbors tree fell on my car they wouldn't do anything.

I would want to kill that lady. She better pay up man. Good luck! Such a sad story. If that happened to even my silly ws6 I'd be puking and raging too

Wow, really nice looking car and that looks like serious damage. Hopefully, you can recoup what you had in it and find something close to that.

You are lucky they are going to offer anything. An uninsured car on the street is usually automatically found at fault
