ALL lt1 GUYS IN HERE!!
alright so ive been talkin to someone from qtp because im a bit irritated that lt1's cant run the quick 8 class in there efi challenge. so i asked if they thought of a lt1 quick 8 and he said that there's not many fast lt1's let alone 8. so if i can get atleast 8 quick lt1's they might consider this class. so who here has an lt1 runnin 10 and lower anyone?!

Most of the fastest LT1 cars aren't local. There are some fairly quick ones around here, but beyond a few in the 9's and some low 10 second cars, pickings are thin for a quick 8 class for LT1's. A lot of the fastest LT1 guys are up in MI area and in the southwest.
Not that the cars don't exist, just there aren't many in the area.
If you really wanna get this going, get in touch with guys on the Caprice/ImpalaSS and Corvette sites too.

its a quick 8 class in an event so the 8 quickest cars get in no restrictions except for an lt based motor.

um lt1 found in a 93-97 fbody or i think 92-96 vette and in the caprice's and impalas in those days. you know the motors with the optispark. not the gen1 lt1

Yes I know, but you can run a single plane, converted SBC heads, heck you can even run an LS1 cam shaft....
Your familar with the LTX shootout classes right?

yes im familiar im registered on the ltxshootout site and im plannin to go and run 2 events. i just thought id try to see if there was anyone s i could try and have qtp make a ltx quick 8 class so i could have somthin to run in in the event

i put all because if i put all 10 second and lower lt1 guys noone would even look at it i dont think this will be happenin i dont see myself findin 7 other lt1's fast enough

have some sort of issue wit them? cause im not exactly happy with how the quick 8 is lsx only. i think its BS how in an efi race the quick 8 is lsx only im sure theres other efi car that should be in that class (me next year) and aren't allowed i think a quick 8 should be for everyone and after qualifying the fastest 8 cars race and if the fastest 8 are all lsx cars then thats great

I certainly love the idea and would try my hand at the Q8 once I get a rear in the car. BUT,,,,,
There isn't that much interest in the LT1s anymore. With the LSX blocks now being so affordable the LT1s are basically done with R+D so we can't even come close to the cubic inches the LS based engines are getting. So getting a vendor to do anything like this is going to be tuff,they aren't going to get that much publicity or business from it. After one race there will probably be one really quick LT! and it will be a class killer and the LT1 quick 8 will be money looser.
In the tristate area N2ODave is the fastest LT1 that I'm aware of. 396 LT1 block, SB2 heads, clutchless 5 speed. Went 9s on a soft launch and all motor. Easy 8 second car on the spray. but that monster is big money! He has almost as much in his motor alone as I have in my entire car!

i didnt know nitrous dave had an lt1 car and i didnt know he was in the tri state area lol and your right with everything. there'd be one class killer and also that lt1's r falling off everyone that has an lt1 wants to go ls. im stickin with the lt1 for now see wat i can do with it then one day ill probably make the change
