10/15 Island Results with Vert

Ran 23 psi in tires all runs, and powerbraked to 1500-1700 rpm. This is full weight, full of stuff, and on a full tank of gas.

Check that consistency mofo's. Once I concentrate on my lights more you bitches better watch out for the Nats! Five runs in the 14.0's in varying lanes. Last three runs I did longer burnouts by about 2 seconds.

The only people 60'ing better were a 12.0 evo, an 11.3 sec Chevelle, and firebird67dude on drag radials and 4.56s lol

While your ETs are consistent, your RTs aren't great and are all over the map. Gotta work on that if you are gonna be winning bracket races.

I already said that I really only worked on my light until my .195 then just started concentrating on et's.

thats a really strong running LT1 for having that much weight. Put some more air in the front tires, get a real tire out back, and try flashing the converter rather than stalling it up. oh and get some of the unnecessary weight out of it lol

Makes me possibly believe the dyno numbers of 297/327. I was just telling someone yesterday how I'll be airing up the fronts more for this weekend. A real tire I can't do because of the parental unit.

I'll try flashing it, but it'll be kinda hard on a stock stall won't it? Weight is mostly all in the trunk so I'm almost thinking it's helping me get some semblance of traction. Same with the full tank of gas. I might take on a few gallons of race gas before the Nats, if nothing else than for the smell and since the car is going away for the winter after them.

I was afraid to air down the rears any more because I figured this setup worked pretty well, and that if I aired down much more with street tires it'd hurt the times. Opinions?

I also might stop by the transfer station, I want to know what my race weight is.

whats hard about it? you stab the gas off of idle and itll flash a little higher than you can stall it up to. borrow someone elses drag radials for a pass or 2 and try it out. race gas wont do anything at all.

lowering the tire pressure too much will cause it to cup and you will actually lose traction. unfortunately i have 27" tires out back or i would let you use my tires but you would actually run slower.

Another bracket racer is born. Nice way to log the runs. IMO I would try to get my 60' times dead nuts on consistant. This means staging exactly the same spot. Different's in staging will show differences in 60' and have an effect on RT as well as ET. It doesn't matter what the 60' numbers are just that they are all the same. Once that happens you can start to work on the lights. Good luck this coming weekend in the bracket wars.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Thanks for the thought.

Yeah I'm going to try staging a little bit deeper too. Thanks for the advice. I hope you're sticking with the 12.0 class!

I hope to make some runs Friday night to see how close to the 12.0 index the car can run. I don't have the brackets in the car yet to properly secure weight. If I can short shift or spot drop to go 11.94 or so I'll be able to run the index class and either or both of the bracket classes. If not I'll be in street and pro brackets. I need the seat time in the car to prepare for an index race the next weekend at Cecil.

Perhaps first round if we "split" the buyback. LOL. I'm going to be testing runs out (even in eliminations) so anything can happen.

Update: Car is retired from racing, but 2 weeks ago I got a 13.783 @ 100.19 with a 2.051 60'. 1/8th mile was a 8.89 @ 80.45 mph

At the Nats I managed a 2.005 60' but due to the warmer weather, no new bests.
