Saw this on Autoblog. Sad story indeed. News story claims they were traveling at about 200mph.

Very sad. I've looked seriously into entering that road race. And just so others know, you aren't allowed to go all out your first few times, so these guys were not beginners. It just shows how random things can happen ike a blown tire.
