440-Mile 1989 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 IROC-Z

Holy smokes.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-28-iroc-z-15/

CURRENT BID: $52,000

BAT has had a lot of low mileage 3rd and 4th gens recently. But i don't remember one blowing up like this.

Feather-light suspension, Konis just couldn't hold. I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors.

The gradual rise in the assumed value of third gens over the past 5-10 years has recently made me think twice about plans for modifying my white GTA. Although it is clearly no where near the condition/value of a 440mile Iroc, its not a basket case either. ttop, 305 tpi, auto, digital dash, etc. It a 63k mile original condition car with all documentation including window sticker, dealer contract, and even the carbon copy of the buyers checking withdrawal slip when he took the money out of the back to pay for the car in full... $23k and change. If I did mod it, I would keep all the original parts and make sure mods were reversible down the line. Currently I could probably sell the car for around $6K perhaps. Who knows what another 10 years will do for it. My notchback on the other hand, very little value due to mileage and rebuilt title status. But still worth more original than modded so that'll stay stock too.

All the used cars/trucks are going up because of covid which is the opposite of what I thought was going to happen. I was ready to jump on anything clean in the 70's to 90's Camaros because I thought prices were going to go down due to people losing their jobs and instead, the prices went up. I keep looking for a clean 08-2016 Silverado reg cab short bed pickup for the same reason and they all went up over $30K for a clean truck. Don't even look at the Tacomas from 2005 through 2015, they jumped big time which might be good for me. I don't know if it's reduced supply of new vehicles, but I think it's more that people got out of their newer leases and tried to grab anything clean in the last 10 years that has run stuff up. Anyone wanna buy a 2013 Tacoma reg cab with 68K miles with lots of mods for $18K! For $20K I'll throw in a Procharger I have that I'm getting ready to retrofit.
