What a ricer

My speakers will go boom on January1st, when my new head-unit gets installed, so I can finally rock out to my Dr. Dre 2001 CD.

ah somebdy else finally discovered soundstream, a not too well now company with some sick products. My system has some "bump" to it, Pioneer head unit, Alpine 470w 4ch powering JL interiors, and a 1000w Kenwood(temp replacement for my 1500w Alpine getting repaired) powering 2 12" Soundstream Mules. The advertisemnet about those subs are "Other subs may knock you out, but the Mules will kick your ass!"

I have a question about the capacitor, did you actually require it? i dunno but all the systems ive done, i've never needed one. i see kids all the time running way less power and they have them and i can never see why. At 2/3 volume my lights wil barely dim at night, nothing noticeable even on the batt. gauge. I learned with proper wiring, grounds and gauge sizes, power will flow correctly.

oh also, how are you running those dvc subs, stereo or bridged? If you do bridge them the ohm rating will be, i think 1, and that gets a little low for some soudstream amps so be careful. voice coils are all usually 4 ohms, with a dvc setup it drops the ohm of a sub to 2, so you should be getting approx 440w per channel. And with the 400w RMS of the subs, that will be good, as a rule you dont want to underpower a sub which can damage it just like overpowering it.

yeah, but i had all the equipment laying around...so i decided to put it in. its easier to take out than it is to put in, so when i find a buyer ill just yank it all.

and yeah Smoking, i have it running stereo, wired in ummm...i dont remember if its parallel or series....all +'s are together, all -'s are together. so yeah its running at 2 ohms. its definitly louder than i expected. and as for the capacitor, im not sure if i really NEED it, but its not like itll hurt anything to have it....it might prolong the life of my alternator/battery as well. im using all 4 gauge wire for power and grounds, grounded at the rear strut mount bolt.

my speakersgoboom too, 2 10" rockford fosgate punch HE2's, 400rms, 800max powered by a rockford fosgate punch series 800 watt 2 channel amp. it's rated at 800 watts, but it really puts out 912, according to the birth sheet. and I only have the gain at like 70%, maybe not even.

yeah, 800w/912w with no resistance....factor in the ohm load the amp is at (probably 4 or 2) and its cut waaaaay down.

probably, but the gain is barely over half and I can't set the "bass boost" up all the way and have the amp setting on my HU at super bass w/out blowing out my ear drums. I can still go half again louder than what I have it at now..way overkill lol
