took on an AMG E55 tonight...

it started as i was leaving the Palisades center mall. Â*As i was on my way around the mall towards the rt 303 S exit, i stopped at a light next to a mercedes. i didnt think anything of it, i just noticed the two older guys in the car staring at me. Â*When it went green, they got off quick, i tried to follow but traction was non-existant with all the road salt. i caught them right at the exit of the lot onto rt 303. they took off once again and i didnt even bother this time, i just assumed they were pricks. Â* About 1/2 a mile down 303, i passed them in the left lane, making sure they'd get a good look at my car. haha. Thats when i also noticed the badging on the benz...AMG E55. Â*i was about 10-15 car lengths in front of them when i looked in my rearveiw to see the benz headlights flying up in the right lane, I dropped it 3rd and punched it,(should have went to second since i was only around 50mph, but traction would have sucked) Â*anyway, right after i punched it, i caught the benz from passing me and i had him with his nose at my pass door. I went to about 4500rpms, and now i was about 2-3 car lengths in front of him. Â*I shifted to 4th and that broke my tires loose a little, I went WOT again and continued to pull on him hard. i kept on it until about 105mph, Â*by then i was a good 6-7 car lengths in front. Â*I slowed down to about the speed limit and he pulled next to me. Â*I looked over and he smiled and nodded at me, I gave a little wave back. Â*After that he backed off and stayed behind me at a distance for the rest of the way down RT303.

It was the newer style E55 with the 5.5L intercooled Kompressor engine that puts out 469hp. 0-60 in around 5 seconds flat. Its the fastest sedan in the history of mercedes, puttting down a 1/4 mile ET of 12.89 stock. Now thats a sick benz.

That Kompressor engine is crazy, I could hear it clearly over my loud exhaust when he was next to me. My g/f was laughing the whole time, thank god she trusts my driving. Off the line i think he would have taken me due to traction issues and his better bottom end power, but thank god we were at a roll. Thats the second AMG ive raced with my SS. The first was an AMG S600 (V12, 362hp) on the NJ turnpike, at about 125 there I could easily walk away from him, which i did up to 147mph, my highest personal speed in the SS. But speeding is wrong and should never be done.

Is the AMG a IRS though? I hear IRS have more traction problems then a straight axle.

Very cool though, I would defenitly love to own on as a "family car"

Did it have quad exhaust?

E55's are top end cars
They typically run mid 12's

What do you run?

I don't know your times... I am just wondering if you went against an 02 E55... they are N/A

i didnt check the exhaust. But it did say Kompressor on the front fender so it wasnt n/a. Â*I should be high 12's right now. Â*Maybe he wasnt fully on it but he was definately giving it some type of try.

Awesome kill man. Atleast you were lucky. I tangled with a Renntech E55 and got my ass handed to me and he had 5 people in the car I was running 12.1 in the 1/4 mile at the time.
