Question help

anyone know what size the balencer bolt is I lost it while i had my motor apart it a 96 lt-1 car

The original is 7/16 - 20 x 2 1/4. GM P/N 09440024, or you could get an after market bolt. Probably any parts place or Jegs/Summit or another place like that.

thank i going to just pick up a grade 8 bolt so i can get the car running and order on from arp on monday

Make sure the bolt is for an LT1, they are different from a standard SBC as the washer/bolt head is smaller to fit into the balancer. I'm not home so I can't give you the ARP part number.

Ok, found the answer. What I got was just the standard ARP part # 234-2501 SBC - 13/16 head but it came with a stock LT1 washer. LT1 washer is smaller diam and also thicker then a stnd SBC so you need the washer so it doesn't bottom out in the crank.

If you're running an after market balancer such as a ATI then you may need to cut 1/8" off the bolt as well.
