series 2 or 3 carrier?

How do u find out if u have a series 2 or 3 carrier. im tryin to get gears installed and need to know which one i have.

iirc traction control only came on 3 series carriers for lt1 cars....and since 93's didnt come with TC 8)

i believe you have a series 3, however check the rpo codes and thatll tell you what your ratio is.

3.08 and numerically lower is series two
3.23 and numerically higher is series three

I gave him once this info that i got from a member in speeddensity.org,but we cant find those rpo codes on the door

GU5=3:23s = 3 series carrier
GU2=2:73s = 2 series carrier

i was also told that it might be in the glove box,don't know how true that is tho cuz i didnt see any numbers there when i had the car..

count the teeth or calculate via driveshaft rotation in proportion to tire rotation...2.73's have 2 series, 3.23's have 3 series.
