well yesterday i made some clear corners for my car. went to test them and discovered my front blinkers don't work. tried the old and new sets of bulbs and checked the fuses. the only time they come on is if i have my headlights on and they just light up. any ideas?
car is a 2000 trans am

check for power at the socket. could be a bad flasher, socket, or multifunction switch. do they work with the hazards?

cut the orange face off the stock blinkers, painted the back of the housing silver, and glued flourescent light covering over it. looks pretty decent for $5. only clear corners made for my car cost $50.

i'm what i like to call ghetto. aka poor. i just didn't be gots fitty bills for clear corners. so i made em.
only one side is smooth. you put the smooth side outward.
i actually ended up using two layers. i put them together with the smooth sides outward so the textured sides sort of meshed together. doing it this way gives it a finer and more legitimate looking texture and also makes it less see-through. with just one layer you see right through to the bulb. plus this made it sit flush with the bumper for me, and made it easier to get a waterproof seal(hot-glue didn't really work for me, so i used elmers superglue)
i decided my corners were too clear and made my parking lights look kinda yellow so today i smoked them with VHT nightshade, looks even better.

very nice. let me know how it turns out. make sure to be extra careful when you go to drill the holes because the covering i had cracked pretty easily when i drilled it.

well, i did it on a 3rd gen. rears came out good. fronts not so good. i didnt have a cutting wheel so i just ripped off the entire lens and just bolted it up. idc about condensation cuz he fronts had no way to seal it today. looks good and thats all i care about cuz those lights neverrrrr worked lol. but looks real none the less.
and i dont have them flush with body...too muck work without the lens cut...when i ripped it off it took it all off so the new "lenses" are resting on the white paRT.

the hot glue really wasn't working for me so i took some elmers superglue and just put a little bead all the way around the outside. then i just used my finger to smooth it out and push the glue down into the crack a little.
i'll try to get some pictures today

today i got leds for my front blinkers...not markers....so i put them in and blinker stays solid? i put parking lights on and its dim and then flip blinkers on and it gets brighter but still solid....put 4 ways on and it works perfect?
any ideas?

to use L.E.D's you need a new signal flasher, pretty sure that's your problem from the sounds of it.
the 4 ways i think run off of a different flasher. maybe that one's compatible with led's so that's why it's working.

the flasher is the relay. due to the lower resistance of led's, the flasher won't work correctly. the 4ways may work because all the bulbs are working together to create enough resistance, not sure though.
