this guy got ripped off

i wanted to share this post with everyone. social media has connected people with the same interests across the country. im part of this page on facebook called f-body craigslist, where you could buy or sell f body specific car parts.

i came across this post of a guy who wanted to buy dark stars and sent $600.00 via paypal to the seller but instead got toy wheels shipped to him. to no surprise to me the guy who sold them to him is no longer reachable.

just an eye opener to anybody who buys parts online.

With a good tracking number, paypal is more favorable to the seller.

Shipping weight should say a lot here but thankfully I've never been in this situation.

If he gifted him the money hes pretty much SOL. If he paid normally he has a chance. I run an online store for parts and we get people that buy stuff and then try to distribute saying they never did and blah blah blah. Sadly, they win sometimes.

You might want to be careful with harassment based on interweb hearsay.

I thought it was kinda funny, but proves sending money to an unknown person is risky.

Just because someone want the PP funds gifted doesn't mean you have to do so. Being you are going to pay the 3% regardless, just send it regular and calculate the 3%. That way you are safer.

Some people are born scammers. They are bad people. I'm more than happy to ship stuff off to get it out of my place to create room. No needed to screw one someone.

You can send money through paypal without either party getting the 3% fee. If you use a credit card, the fee is applied. If its your bank account, it can transfer for free.

No. You get a the fee regardless of bank or cc. You only bypass with gifting. If you pay for goods, seller gets charged like 99cents + the percentage, which is why buyers get protection
