The torsion bars and leafs is the alternative and is pretty cheap to do. Also, maybe you want to check out www.blazerforum.com there is a lot of good information and write ups over there.

some pics when you get done working on it. Oh btw it's a 2 door if it's my old car he still has.

yup lol, i never realized that i had a trans from my old Z that i can swap the tail shaft and throw in there. im not trying to do anything crazy just a little lift and some big tires. well see if i get addicted to it after that but i want my camaro to hit low 11s this season so thats top priority

Yeah the race car has to go faster first lol. I had tracked down a trans for it before I sold it, but I found out that you have to lift the body to get the top housing bolts out. Or if you feel like short cutting it you can cut a hole in the floor. Idk if it's true or not but alot of people told me the 2 doors had more ground clerance too don't know if that's true or not.
