it's all good bill. you know there is plenty of time to help even after this motor is out. i still have to do the cam swap and through the new motor in. prolly gonna try to find time for a front end rebuild while everything is apart and easy to get at. i will also take some time to clean, sand, and paint the stock k-member since it will actually be able to be seen since there won't be much of anything left under the hood

any word on when you'll be getting your hands on the new motor? Have you talked to kevin at all about the swap and if he can lend a hand in any way?

i am in touch with speartech adn contemporary corvette about the engine. basically as soon as one of them has exactly what i am lookin for, '01/'02 LS1 + Auto, they will be calling me.
i am really hoping i can jsut get everythign i need at once from speartech, maybe if i spend enough money they will cut me a deal
i haven't talked to kevin yet, i was going to wait until i had the motor ready to go in or even once the mechanical portion of the swap is done. it is really his expertise in the electrical portion of the install that i will need help with.

i decided to get teh motor and trans together cause it is just easier to find. i will be going to the glide in the near future. i want to have my good rear with the 4.09's in the car first though.
dunno how long teh OD unit will be in there before teh swap, toying with teh idea of doing a stall in it and seeing if i can break teh LS1Tech.com cam only record since i will have about a 250lbs advantage over the current record
i have to get the 305 out and the ls1 in before i can seriously consider that though.

further adventures of teh boat anchor: found out why teh car ran soooo bad. seems that the intake pushrod on #4 commited suicide somehow. i am thinkin when teh previous owner did the timing chain replacement he managed top mess it up somehow. really teh strange part is that the rocker does not appear to have moved at all. the nut is aligned the same as the others around it and is perfectly tight.

foff667 and tru2chevy stopped by and helped get the rest of the accessaries and the intake off. i also removed the front sway and the corner braces from the k-member(the weight nazi never sleeps )

hopefully i can find my '01 or '02 LS1 combo soon and get it installed. in the mean time i am planning to go over teh engine compartment with a fresh coat of paint and get some more weight reduction done.

hehe, i will get under there and rip teh exhaust off at least back to teh cat in the next few days, maybe even later tongiht if i get bored.
i am gonna talk to matt about getting the car ready for paint while the motor is out too. i jstu have to talk to a few people about a new hatch since mine has rust in it and maybe a few other little things.
i guess i shoudl give hawk a call this week to and see if he has a non-a/c set up for me. that way i can paint the heater box to match at the same time i do the rest of the car.

The 3.23's would be a nice way to wake your car up until we get the 700R4 built for you. Then you can throw some real gear in it

paint = weight

i'm surprised you're even driving around with a body. i wouldn't be surprised to see you at the track driving a frame with a seat and a steering wheel
