Don't abandon ship yet. See if you or a pro can play with them a little bit before you make your decision.

I considered them ditching my Magnaflow + dual tips + cutout setup but, based on everything I read online, I think I would need to modify the SE TDs with different mufflers if I was to ever pick them up. $500 TDs + $100 PHB Relo + $50 in hardware + $150 in mufflers + $150 in welding + $350 DMH cutouts = $1,300 all in just sounded steep for an FBody "catback" in my case. Granted, still cheaper than the KOOKS system, but when weighing the pros/cons of swapping, I haven't been able to justify the swap in my head yet.

Hoping you get the fitment sorted out and they grow on you.

Got a call from my buddy last night letting my know the car was done. Didnt get a chance to pick it up.(Monday and Tuesday i work late) but he said he should be there a bit after hours working on his race car so i should be able to get there to pick it up.

-Alignment done to a race spec. Aligned with person in car(as well as a few batteries to match my weight )
-Ride Height set
-Pinion angle set
-Rear Centered
-Any under car wiring i half assed was tucked away nice
-Cables to starter and trans cooler lines rerouted between the block and the engine mount post(more clearance from header.)
-Entire exhaust was loosed and pushed up in numerous spots with tall screw jack stands and re-tightened.

Think ill have time to get the car tonight.

Cant beat on it much since its still got the stock injectors in it. There isnt enough fuel at the top and she leans out. Really looking forward to getting my injectors in and my foot to the floor.

unrelated to above... does anyone know if there is gunna be a nice black friday deal on a rear?

It’s not a Black Friday sale but it’s a 12 bolt with a free car for the same price as a new rear.

Picked up the car last night late. Wanted to get it home before todays n last nights rain. Car drives much nicer than it did on the way there. 275s upfront and no power steering is an adventure in itself. Theres still some sounds coming from the back of the car on bumps, not really sure what they are yet. I was told the tires JUST clear in the back on the inside after centering the rear, so maybe its just them hitting on bumps. I havent BFH'd the inner fender tub so looks like that will be this weekends project.

I took the backroads from my friends shop to the service road next to the airport, at the end up the service road instead of taking side streets to my house i opted to hop on route 17. Merged to 55-60 without issue and cruised down the short stint of highway to my house without a hickup.

Car feels good.

Glad the car is feeling better. What size rubber do you have in the rear?

That's your rear noise.

you have to grease them every 50 miles or they clunk. they bind like crazy. i swapped my bmr poly/poly's for boxed in stockers with new bushings. MUCH better ride.

or you can get heim joint ones, they seem to be better.

^^^ is definitely a possibility, but you have 60’ of 3” pipe under a lowered Fbody, my guess would be the exhaust is touching somewhere. I could be wrong tho. Check the shocks too, make sure they aren’t bottomed out. Normally when i push the right pedal down all of the noises go away.

Does my car rattle? Can I diagnose any moderate noise? The answer to both of these is I have no idea because she likes to yell.

I’ll grease em up and see what happens.

I took the day off to go to doctor and get recall done on my truck, so I had some time in afternoon. I pulled off the rear tires and BFH’d were it was hitting. Undercoat stuff they coat the wheel well with was rubbed off in 1 spot. So I massaged the shiney area and hit the whole wheel house with some black paint.

Swapped out the 80s style Z28 emblems on the fenders for some 5th gen-ish emblems. Didn’t want to pay $40 each for OEM ones so I found these online. I’ll get pics up tmmr.

Also fixed my headlamp debocal.

Still trying to find out when. Im real close friends with the tuner, so after going back n forth of non working dates he said we can just do it on a sunday at his shop instead of during hours. So we settled on the 12th, BUT, now hes sponsoring The Slipstream event at Pocono that day so well have to find another date. Most likely the 19th.

His shop is on linden, feel free to bring food, drink, fireworks, blast shields and fire extinguishers. Also tissues for when i make less than 400.
