For the vents, i want to replace them before i put the dash in the car because once the cage is in its not coming out.

Let me rephrase....do you need the vac canister under the hood or one (or more) of the actual vac operated flapper door things. That whole system works off vaccum.
engine --> cannister --> diverter valving --> various vent flappers

Try a dealer. If not, try ted gerlach for a used one. They are easy enough to test to see if they work. Push the arm/part that moves in & hold it, you'll hear air push out of the hose end. Put your finger over the hole & let go of the part and it should stay in that position.

I think his work, he just wants new ones, because once his cage goes in, pulling the dash apart will be practically impossible.

I just scanned rockauto.com for your car. They have them. Delcos.
Test them, if they are good then so be it. They usually last a long time. The OE ones in my 77 work great.
