Heres the year and gears. for 4th gens

2.73 A4 93-97
3.42 M6 93-97

3.23 A4 98-02
3.42 M6 98-02
3.23 was the optioned rear for the LS1 cars, 2.73 gearing were standard.

2.73 A4 93-97
3.42 M6 93-97

3.23 A4 98-02

In addition, this is v8 specific - v6 cars from the same years were given different rears. Also, early LT1 Z28 / TA M6s could have had 2.73s or 3.23s depending on which perf. package they had.

What about the 93 M6 with 2.73 or the 93 M6 with 3.23 and 93 M6 never came with 3.42. The 93 A4 also came with 3.23.
