Exhaust Tip help?

OK, so I currently have the SLP Loud Mouth II on my TA. I bought new tips for it because I always felt that the round tips sticking out of the rectangular bumper looked strange. The issue I'm having is predictable, I can't get the old tips off to get the new ones on. They're not welded, just clamped - but they've been on there for a few years. Anyone have an idea on how to get the tips off without destroying them - or the exhaust? I was out there for two hours last night wrestling with them. They slide a bit, but not even close to what I need. I tried spraying some WD-40 on them hoping it would help me break them loose. I also tried heating just the tips thinking I could get them to expand just enough to slide. Maybe someone can think of something more creative??

Social Networks:

they had the horse shoe style clamps and now it crimped the pipe?

You may have to cut slits in the end of the old tailpipe where it was crimped if that makes sense. Won't completely destroy them but if you try and put them back on another exhaust anyway I don't think it will slide on either

yeah, I was assuming that the clamps crimped the end of the tip and the pipe - and now that a few years have gone by they're on there pretty good.

I'll have to grab a can of PB Blaster, never tried it but I've heard it works much better than WD-40. Hopefully I don't have to cut them off...
