Rust Repair

I knew this was in an issue, but this is the first time I've seen the extent of it up close. How much should I expect to pay to have that patched up? There's two similar sized holes on both sides of the rear fenders.

Have you considered minitubs? I bet that rot is further round than you can see from the inside. If you don't tub it, I'd say get Paul to cut you what you need out of a donor or I have a donor your could cut up. Price wise, no idea but I'd expect $500-$1000 depending on the experience level of the shop doing it and the amount of effort they put into finishing it off.

I never truthfully factored this level of repair. It sound costly either way. I would consider mini-tubs, but doesn't that require cutting the frame and relocating suspension hardware? I'm going back through Transmaro93's build post to see all that went on, but the pics don't seem to work anymore. I wonder if that would be cheaper in the long run.

Finish wise I was planning on painting the floor pan and sealing it up with a coating, so as long as its welded in properly I'm not to concerned.

Kind of puts a damper in my plans / time table. I don't want to band aid this one by covering it back up with the interior so for a while I guess I'll be tin-canning it. Sucks because thats where my bolt on roll bar goes too!

I still have 2 parts cars.(98 getting junked saturday as of now)

And alex, remember how perfect the body on the formy is ? lol

Mini tubs = Insane wheels

You don't have to go as crazy as his but it isn't simple work.

Arock, where is the car located? If you can get the parts and the car's mobile I can weld them in for you. That's the inner wheel housing, so it's not a huge cosmetic deal. It's all hidden.

It's not really a terrible job, especially if you can get the sections cut out of a donor car.

If Paul can cut them out and Bishop can get them welded in place you can probably take care of the finishwork/grinding/painting on your own.

Now may be the time to weld in plates for a roll bar if you are so inclined.

Wow that would be great! I truly appreciate it! I'm in Hawthorne not far from Hackettstown. Im actually trying to get the exhaust put on this week and from then I just need to finish gutting the interior.
