have someone scan the bcm. it will give you a code or two for what is up.

It means the system failed, but it knew the key was good. You need to bypass it with a resistor to rid yourself of the light.

Mines been on since I bought the car back in January and I'm too lazy to spend $300 on anything that's not gonna improve the performance of the car. Usually it's supposed to not make the car start but I have yet to get stuck for 5 mins and the car always starts fine *knocks on wood*

Well I am not sure how you fix it without replacing the BCM, but my light has been on since the summer. Still starts every time.

i think its either the resistor that went bad or the wires inside the tumbler broke

You can also run BCM diagnostic codes without a scanner by turning your key ON
Then OFF
Remove your radio fuse
Turn your key back to Accessories for 5 seconds and your BCM will beep
"The Beep is the same noise you hear when your lights are left on, Key is left in the ignition ect.. that sound comes out of your BCM."
After you hear it beep Turn the Key OFF
Then Immediately back to Accessories
The BCM will beep again followed by the Security Light on your Cluster
will start flashing the codes.
1 flash pause 2 flashes that is a code 12 which = BCM Diagnostic System Check
It will do that 3 times then it will start flashing out the BCM Trouble codes..
