new odometer questions

i made a new gauge pod for my car, so now i have a new speedometer with the odometer at 0 miles. Does anybody know the procedure with having the mileage verified? I seem to remember that you somehow get a sticker for the door jam with the original mileage on it? Not sure where to go for this? DMV? Anybody have any experience with this?

I'm glad this came up because since I'm going to a 6-speed I'm going to have to figure out a new setup and might have to just get a new gauge.

I think dealers do that when they change the cluster. They put streaker on the door jam.
