Lt1 and standard heads

Can someone tell me the difference between a LT1 head and a standard head. I have a pair of TFS heads off an 86 z28 and I'm not sure what they are, they are center bolt valve cover, and they have the center intake bolt angle difference. Any help would be great.

thanks,
-Tom

The main difference is the LT1's use Reverse flow cooling, they have water jackets in the cylinder heads where anti-freeze flows through unlike a standard SBC head. The two are not interchangeable.

Gen I small block chevys have water jackets in the heads as well.....just pointing that out so others don't think there is no cooling in a standard sbc head....

Look at the casting number on the heads and post it up here.....we should be able to get some info on them for you.
