Guys need to wish me luck
I always told myself that when I race, it would be for the pure enjoyment of doing it. However, I have no job and I need to get some cash. So this race to me is some easy money
Well, I have a race with this STI this week. I don't think he knows what mods I have. I have no clue what his mods are, but I think he is very close to stock. As a matter of fact, I think he is stock. Anyway, I wanted to run for $50 (you know, to cover gas expenses), however, I get word from my friend that he wants to drop a whole entire paycheck on this. I assume it would be about $300.
I kinda feel bad for racing him for that much. anyway, wish me luck guys

i look at it this way..i wanted a daily driver before i started modding the car... if can't race once in awhile on the street, than my goal of having a daily driven car is gona go down the drain...
it's probably gonna be for 300 or so
oh yeah, the problems should be straightened out by TTP. car has been ready for a couple days already
i was in cali and vegas for the past week and a half...

RJ, I dont think you'll have much trouble against an STI. Even if it had some basic bolt-ons It really couldnt be a hard kill. Good Luck.

good luck, i dont know what mods you have, but sti are not that easy to beat. he could have a bigger turbo or even run more boost with the stock turbo, theres no way for you to know.
hope you are racing at the track, and not on the street, speeding tickets cost a lot of money, not to mention the points on your insurance.
anyway i would check out his car first, then decide how much $$ to race for.
good luck

be careful street racing an awd car from a dig......if you arent on slicks or at least drag radials you will be playing catch up.......

i wanted this race to be low key. I mean have about 5 cars go with us. There's a deserted highway by my house. so have two people go down and check it out. than have one behind us to tell us if anything is happening. I'm not of a street racer, but I hheard that this guy was talking some smack.
I have et streets, drag radials and street tires, so right now i'm leaning towards drag radials. Take it easy on the rear end for now.
Like I said before, I think he's almost stock. I don't want to check out his car cause he might want to do the same for me. And if you ever looked under my hood, it's kinda crazy.
i'm pretty confident i can take him pretty well but we shall see

RJ, just spray & crank up the boost (or spray into the intercooler) Just blow the rear, and you'll that much more money towards a new one!

RJ, you should have no problem unless you just SMOKE the tires. Even then, you'll win.

as long as you got your problems sorted out, RJ, you should be fine. stock, the STI's go mid to low 13's. depending on the mods, i'd say a mild one can definitely hit 12's, which should be no problem for you

like stated...they cut 1.7 60's stock at the track...look for around the same on the street...if you have any problems hooking you'll be at least 1/2 second behind right off the line & will be playing catchup at that point...good luck though.

Just make sure you run your race and don't get spooked if he gets you out of the hole. Keep your head and let the LS1 pull hard up top and you'll walk by him with no problems.

RJ, do you have any details about the owner of the car? John(at the shop) was telling me of an STI in the area that would definately take you. It's heavely modded.

I think the guys name is Hector. His STI is supposed to be SICK. 3.0 stroker, larger turbo, ect... It raced a 10.80 car and put the smackdown on it.
