Locating a car ?

The itch for a car never really went away, but my financial state never allowed me to scratch it. With my new position at work, i will be making a few extra bucks, and that, hopefully, is going to allow me to scratch that itch.

Ive been tossing back and forth the ideas of going with something new, 5th gen or 6th gen, maybe even one of them fancy scat pack dodges. But i really dont like the idea of a payment for that long, and i dont want to worry about warranty.

sooooooo that leads me to here.

If im going to pick up a toy, i want to get what i want. So other than search criteria on Autotrader and what not, is there really any way to track down a car going off color/driveline/package/ect ? or so i just need to stay persistent with checking craigslist and forums ?

carfax also lists cars, I looked up a fe won there.

I'm in the same boat come february. I want to find a specific car and so far i got ebay, craigslist, autotrader, carfax, and dealer web searches, and then just going into a dealer and asking them to find me a certain car.

Well i work for a dealer, so i can have them check the auctions and stuff for me. I wasnt aware that worked for older cars as well.

Do something small, lightweight and with a healthy amount of power.

No more never ending projects ! i need to buy something ready to rock, or that requires little work. Only thing id really consider thats a lot of work would be buying a roller T/a or Camaro and having to add my own drivetrain. I dont want to deal with wiring and what not.

More so like a V8 miata. Simple, easy to make quick, handles well, etc etc. Just a fun car to jump in and drive but simple enough that you won't have to always wrench on it.

I'm guilty of wanting a V8 Miata or RX7 LS-swap.

Or sweeten the deal and pay the guy who owns the trailer said baron is sitting on. I'm pretty sure that last sentence is grammatically perfect....

I know a place where we can get a sweet truck & do a demo-derby. Airbags are already removed and everything!
