Key-less entry

Ok so heres my dilema :

When I bought my car, the kid told me that the original owner had an aftermarket alarm installed, and loss the keypad. So the entire system was "disconnected" As a result I lost the use of power locks on the doors.

From the factory my car did come with key-less entry.

Well today I had a Viper 350HV alarm system installed by a trustworthy assosiate at his shop. They called me up to tell me that the factory key-less entry was not working. Ok? He told me to go to a chevy dealer and have them take a look at the original system.

The new alarm is installed and working, but I still do not have any clue as to why my power locks do not work.

Im probably just going to have Chevy take a look at it anyway... And my friend will re-synch the alarm system to the key-less entry for free after its worked out.

But what the hell could be the cause of the problem?
