ok, i was bored and thinking of stuff i can do to my ss when i get home.
Since the tail end is all unique, i figure ill work on the front a little.
I currently have HIDs installed in the oem headlights, and i love it, but yes, the spread of light is pretty large and bright. not that i mind, i can see better that way and its not too bad for oncoming drivers. The HID bulbs i have are designed to directly fit any 9006 housing so theres no rigging there.
I looked on ebay quick at the types of projectors/halo lights available for our cars. I have always known about the halos with the 3 circles. i hate that, i think they are ugly and retarted. 'nuff said. I then just looked at a few with just high beam and low beam. i found 2 types. both designs felt the need to incorporate directionals and or led's into the housing which im not a real fan of. The halos i figured i dont have to connect even, or ill just have them on a switch.
anyways, back to my point, im thinking if my hids will be good in one of these "projectors". one page said they wont work with HID lighting systems... that didnt make much sense to me. if they take oem bulbs, my 9006 hid bulbs will fit.
Do they mess up the light pattern that much?
is there any aiming of the projector lens itself?
In the future ill also look into making custom front directionals with white LEDs, like one strip of 8 or so, that flash amber when turning. Thats simple though, but i figure basic hid projector housing headlights would look good with that.
heres a link to the one type i was considering. I'd only do the 2 lens, and chrome inside in case anyone suggest another type.

edit... ah just read it comes with an H3 low bulb and 9005 high. my 9006 low HID bulb would not fit then.... interesting...
