need some opinions on a possible trade
ok so as some of you may know i broke the trans in my 98 6.0 z and im really not looking to fix it as im buying a new car very soon. i posted it up on craigs list and i got a guy that wants to trade me a 94 corvette white with 6 speed trans and lt1 350 with 81k on the clock and new black zr1 wheels. would you consider the trade or should i just sell the car outright and be done?
here is the vette post.

Well you could buy an LT4 block, and use the LT1 heads!

yeah but you were asking 10k for the car before hand. why lose 3k for a 500 dollar fix...1200 if you got hanlon to do it?
easier to sell a running car

Maybe stick to cars like these?
Hard to break, cheap, and you can get as many as you want!

Seems like a nice car. It would be an even trade value wise. Only thing is you know that camaro. New car, new set of problems. It would be pretty useless to have two sports cars as well.
If it were me i'd get rid of both the cars and get the new car. Then maybe look for cheap truck to haul parts or whatever, after the other cars are sold. Wouldn't want to be putting greasy crap on the brand new carpet

1994 corvette 350 lt1 six speed, 81,000 miles. white with black leather interior. slp cold air kit, hurst shifter, aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator, borla cat back exhaust. it also comes with a brand new McCleod high performance cluch kit. it has brand new black with machined lip zr1 wheels, with 315/35/ zr17 rear tires. car runs and drives great.
Looks like a nice ride .Its worth a look . I was considering it by he never answered my post . So I order more parts for mine

I wouldn't trade for that Vette or any other sports car/toy at this point. You are obviously frustrated with the car and need to get into something you CAN'T MOD. You seem to be willing to take a substantial hit on the Camaro to do so, so stay the course. Dump the Camaro, the Cavalier and get the Hyundai Genesis and move on. Chalk it up to a learning experience.
If you trade for another toy you'll end up in the exact same place again. You bought the Bronco, lifted it, did tires/wheels etc. then ???????? and sold it (probably at a loss or broke even at best). You talked about putting wheels on the Cavalier???? You need to get into something that you CAN'T MOD.
Just observations, nothing more. Don't go after that Vette. Its another money pit waiting to happen. Get the Hyundai, make the payments, take care of it and enjoy it.
You might be better demodding it, then trading it in.
Sell the intake/TB for $700 plus a stock LS1 intake/TB?
Sell the tires wheels for $1500 and throw some stockers on it?
Sell the headers/y-pipe for $600 plus stock stuff to put back on?
Take any suspension pieces off and sell them and put the stock stuff back on $300?
Now you have $3000+/- in your hand, put a tranny in it for $1000. Sell the car for $7000 plus or trade it and throw the $2000 on top and go get the Hyundai.....
There's some work there, but on trade all that stuff adds little to no value in the dealer's eyes.
Chris
(I'd still keep my eyes peeled for a T56 to swap in, even if only to make selling easier.)

no no no........ c5 or newer.
not against the lt1 or nuthuggin on the ls1. just the c5 & up are just alot nicer car, and are a better fitment for ya.
c4 and earlier aren't near as comfortable for a bigger guy like you or me,
nor do they handle as well,
the driver to controls operation are much nicer on the c5 &up
i would only buy a c4 if I could get it cheap.... THEN I WOULD FLIP IT TO MAKE SOME $.
overall, eric, I believe that you will be unhappy with it.

The lq4 isn't that bad mine made 407 rwhp and 380rwtq not my first choice for a motor swap but I bought the car like that.
I would fix the Camaro then sell it, it will be easier to sell that way, and you'll probably mod the vette get bored of it really quick then take another hit on that one too.

well i have someone interested in the cavalier. so im gonna stick it down the end of the driveway. the camaro im just going to keep on trying to sell it. if i can save up some extra cash on the side ill fix the trans. but im going back to burns hyundai to buy my genesis that i was going to saturday but needed a little more to put down instead of having to have someone cosign.so im dropping 3k down to do payments on a brand new car. all i know is i hope i can sell off both cars quick.

im not going to be hurting if i buy the new car. i just dont feel like dumping money into used cars anymore. so i just want them gone.
its not like im depending on the sale of these cars to have money for this new one. but once they sell ill just slap some money towards my payments.
