Took the challenger to the track today

Summer heat - 80-85 F.... probably hotter on the track

I wasn't prepared because I had 3/4 tank of gas....and engine temp ranged between 215 and 220 F

Race weight was 4400 lbs even.

So, bone stock automatic SRT8.
Rear tire psi - 28
Front tire psi - 48

Stupid 245 wide tires.....they are a bitch to launch on. I had to launch off idle and slowly roll into the throttle... this is killing my times!

I learned today from fellow SRT people (after I made all my passes) that I only partially turned off the traction control.... I now know how to turn it fully off.

Run 1
60......1.944
330.....5.349
1/8.....8.155
mph....87.11
1000...10.585
1/4.....12.631 <---new best
mph....110.45 <---new best

Run 2
Not even worth typing.....because I got cocky and tried to launch at 1500 rpm's and spun to hell

Run 3
60......1.934 <---new best
330.....5.362
1/8.....8.182
mph....86.27
1000...10.618
1/4.....12.666
mph....110.23

So, I'm happy for my first time out.

Next time I'll run when it's much cooler out and I'll have less gas in it. I am really trying to avoid drag radials on the car.....I'd like to keep it street tires only....I have a spare set of 255's and 285's from my jeep SRT8 so I'm hoping they may fit on the stock wheels.

I think, with practice, cooler temps, less fuel and traction, maybe a 12.4 or 12.3?

Fastest stock SRT8 challenger to date is 12.2XX

Pretty damn fast at 4400lbs!!

This kind of performance has me leaning towards new muscle car vs an old one.

That's a lot of weight your towing but very respectable times. Would love to own one of those cars one day.

I'd say the 245s did an awesome job pushing a 4400 lb. load off the line with a 1.9xx 60'. Try that with a set of goodyears 9 ply iron rides! Have you had that thing on a dyno? I'm curious what 470hp/470tq equates to at the rear wheels.

I've only had it for 5 weeks so I'm still learning to drive it.
I think, with the right prep, I can go a bit quicker.

Haven't dynoed it yet, but that will happen in the fall.
