Stuck in the 14's

My first post and I need help guys. I have a 94 camaro with LT4 conversion,58mm TB, full exhaust, CAI, 1800 stall, 275 40 17 MT street radials, 373's, lt1 edit and cosmetics and I cant break 13.9. I've run 7 times from 13.9 my first run (2.73 gears no slicks) to 14.4 - Here's my slip from sunday at island

R/T... .241
60'...2.112
330...5.991
1/8...9.140
MPH...78.26
1000...11.875
1/4...14.170
MPH...98.65

Right now i'm shifting at 6300 rpm(lt1edit), do you think I can go higher with stock bottom end?
I don't spin of the line-
Past the middle of 3rd gear in 1/4
My buds say my car just doesn't have the horses (need like 50 more)to pull my set up and a 2800 stall will help
Any input would be great, thanks guys

Well the stall I got was rated at 1800 a little higher than stock. I rebuilt the trans 2 years ago, and started running the car in july

The car isn't leaving well at all. With your mods, plus those tires, you should be able to get 1.8/1.9 60' times pretty easily. What's your rear suspension setup?

I would also look into the tune....that's a pretty slow MPH for the mods that you have listed.

Yea aftermarket converter, stock suspension, I show high 800's low 900's on the o2's when i run - my fastest 60' was 2.056 with street tires and 2.73 rear (99.2MPH)- I don't know what the problem is?

Well, that suspension certainly isn't helping. Neither is that converter. Might as well be stock. Either way, I think you should be trapping higher than you are....

high 13's is bone stock territory...the major question i have to ask is, did you get it tuned after the heads and cam?

Not trying to offend you or anything, but are you confident in your tuning abilities? If you don't have a good amount of experience, you might want to talk to some others about your setup and your tune to make sure everything is one the right track.

330s and 1/8 are on par for a low 14 second pass. It was a hot day and you were on a prep'd track, your not going to spin and in fact, you have to overcome all the VHT that is sticking your car to track and that takes HP, so your car could be slower on the track. When you ran before on street tires you probably were spinning. Your 60' were probably down even though your ET was quicker because when you spin you somewhat get a running start. Sticky tires on a sticky track use HP.

You say you have an LT4 conversion, is that the cam or the entire head/cam package? What do you mean by full exhaust? All stock?

I see a few things I'd change: As already stated, your convertor and gear combo is hurting you. Along with what everyone else said I would try dropping down to a 52MM TB. 58 is probably too large for your set-up. I lost .2 when I went from 52 to a 58 TB on a motor with shorty headers, lingenfelter cam and stage II heads. Switched back to the 52MM and the car picked right back up. If your still running the stock exhaust manifolds then thatis holding the motor back allot as well!

I would put the car on a dyno and see where you're peaking, and also look at your data log for things like timing and injector pulse. Could be that your're getting false knock and as a result allot of timing is getting pulled out??

Properly tuned a LT4 should go 315 - 320 RWHP. But that is a small cam for racing. It makes good torque below 5,000 but runs out in the upper RPMs. You may just be spinning too far past the HP peak on the shifts?

i wouldnt go any higher on the shift points, thats not your problem...somethings up with your tuning i'd say. low 14's is what a stock auto z28 will run with a decent driver...you should be well into the mid-low 13s with your setup IMO

Tune it! And try bumping the air pressure in your tires! With 2.73's you are probably bogging th emotor down alot if your tire pressure is too low. Also do you have the stock LT4 cam or the LT4 "Hot cam"? I would definately suspect a bad tune if you are just using narrowband O2's, but check all your wires, take a look at your plugs. eliminate something mechanical or electrical before you do anything.

i agree with the others, get a wideband O2 and have someone look over your tuning logs.
