Took the challenger to the track

Jeez, I haven't been to the track since June 2008 so it felt like AGES!

I wanted to take my 96 Trans Am but this was the first time wearing a helmet since the spinal surgery - as I later found out, it caused neck pain so no more racing for a while.... or if I race a car it will be slow

It was extremely hot and humid out - temp's in the mid 80's and humidity.... well, I don't know the % but it has been raining here for the past 2 or 3 weeks.

So 2009 Dodge Challenger V6 rental car

I didn't change tire pressure, I usually kept the hood closed between runs, I left a bunch of stuff in the trunk, and had about 1/8 of a tank of gas.

So, no burn out, just went to the line and a 1500 rpm launch
60......2.398
330.....6.769
1/8.....10.353
mph....68.45
1000...13.425
1/4.....16.001
mp......87.78

So, no burn outagain , just went to the line and a 1500 rpm launch
60......2.362
330.....6.701
1/8.....10.265
mph....69.13
1000...13.319
1/4.....15.883
mp......88.2578

So, no burn out again , just went to the line and a close to 2000 rpm launch
60......2.362
330.....6.669
1/8.....10.211
mph....69.22
1000...13.250
1/4.....15.799
mp......88.64

So, a little squeal of the tires for a burn out, just went to the line and a close to 2000 rpm launch
60......2.368
330.....6.674
1/8.....10.217
mph....69.49
1000...13.254
1/4.....15.800
mp......88.71

Englishtown only let me make 4 passes. My last pass was made at 8:32 PM. The sun was going down and the cool weather was approaching.

I figure, if I was motivated and played with tire pressure, had the car empty, had a cool and dry night mid 15's are a definate - low 15's are a stretch.

Now, here is the kicker!
I put the car on the scale.

With me in it, (race weight) 3860 lbs
Without me, 3630 lbs

I had read that challenger's were tank's with their weight. At first, I thought the scale was wrong so I spoke with one of the tech's, we zero'ed out the scale and redid it and same weight?!?!?

I know that the R/T will be heavier due to V8, bigger suspension bits etc but I was shocked.

This car weighs similar to my v6 f body when it was stock. This car runs as quick as my slightly modified v6 f body.

Now I just gotta get my wife to buy me an R/T

I had two buddies there with me:
2009 BMW 335XI (twin turbo AWD) - he went a best of 14.3
2009 G8 GT (intake, azle back, tuning) - he went a best of 13.5

I got video's so I'll probably post them

Ever think about what you would do if you slammed that thing into the track wall and totaled it?

He was smart enought to sign up for the extra insurance. lol. Truth is that it would be the same as any of us wrecking our cars. Libility in on the racer. Ever wonder how many racers are are on the track with a glove box full of car payment coupons?
