Can I just spray nightshade over the clearcoat or will I have to 1000 grit it before

Or would it get darker if I clear coat more

yeah just wetsand it with even 2000 grit. you will see the clear come off. i'd do maybe 2-3 light passes. otherwise it will be overkill during the day.

if you want it to look nice and shiny like taillights usually are, give it a few coats. i only did one maybe two cause i dig the flatter look.

yeah it would be nice if you posted up a pic
I'm currently taping off the reverse lights and wet sanding my previous clear coat with 2000Grit. then I'll lay down 1 more coat and I'll clear it a few times.

do one, let it get tacky, hold it to some light and decide if its what you want. better to get what you desire this time then doing it again.

I like the how the white is separated, but personally I would put a layer over the white as well. I'm aiming for the gloss look for my car.

I agree. I just got done with clear coating. I was going to go with the flat finish like sweetbmx was telling me.but I sprayed too much and ended up having to make it entirely glossy looking. It looks surprisingly good. I don't think I'll put clear coat on the reverse lights though; it's more distinguished as separate.

Yep. He did an awesome job too. He did the same thing to the owner of my ex's notch's car - With the taillights nd headlights. Came out awesome!

I never had the chance to get mine done, because you know - People can't drive. But yeah, I might have him do it to my explorer just for ****s nd giggles.
